N Korea tests long-range missile

North Korea has test-fired a number of missiles - one of which was a long-range weapon which failed seconds into flight, US officials have said.

North korea successfully test fired a mid range missile (2000Km) and they were unsuccessful in testing a long range missile (
Taepodong-2, 6000km).

Some facts about taepodong-2 can be found on the website: http://www.fas.org/nuke/guide/dprk/missile/td-2.htm

To understand the impact of the range of the missile: now, north Korean missile can reach far reaches of russia, can cover whole of china, also reach India and may be Pakistan. Alaska is also now in the reach of such missiles. The whole of Southeast asia and asia pacific including indonesia, thailand can also become easy prey of such a missile.

This gets me thinking, for how long will humans escape the grave danger of mass annihilitating war when they keep on building huge amounts of more and more lethal weapons?

Train crash kills 35 in Valencia
At least 35 people have died in an underground train crash in the heart of the eastern Spanish city of Valencia.

It is a very sad news to hear. It is very painful for those who have been directly or indirectly affected by such an accident. May those involved get enough strength to come out of it.
I just have one point to make (with due apologies to anyone who might be offended)- there are many train crashes which takes place in developing countries like India, Pakistan and many more individuals die in those crashes. But the international news community doesnt really consider them as news worthy to be published...why?
